Art Vision Statement
Albert Einstein, “Creativity is contagious. Pass it on.”
The aim of our art curriculum is to engage, inspire and challenge our pupils. Throughout their time in school, children have the opportunity to work with a variety of different media such as pencils, crayons, pastels, charcoal, clay and paints, in order to produce a wide range of creative work. Each year group has the opportunity to develop skills in drawing, painting, 3D sculpture, textile, collage and printing. Children also learn about a wide range of artists, including William Morris……….in order to inspire them and appreciate the diversity in art. All children are given sketchbooks to allow children to draft their ideas and plan the finished piece before embarking on a more precise work.
Through our Arts Ambassadors Programme, we aim to develop children as leaders and enable them to take a prominent role in lead art throughout the school.
The golden thread throughout our whole curriculum is the intent to improve health, raise aspirations and promote diversity.
