PSHE Vision Statement
'PSHE education gives pupils the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain.‘
Through our structured Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) lessons we believe we enhance children’s education and help them to become respectful, confident and responsible members of society. It aims to help them understand their own personal and social development and deal with many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. Children learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society and how to relate to other people.
PSHE runs through all areas of our curriculum and is based on the Jigsaw scheme of work which has a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health. This comprehensive programme includes statutory Relationship and Health Education. We supplement this programme with support from a range of outside agencies. HW
The golden thread throughout our whole curriculum is the intent to improve health, raise aspirations and promote diversity.
