Message from our Principal

Welcome

I am the Principal of Woods Bank Academy, in Darlaston, Walsall. On behalf of the children and staff, I would like to welcome you. 

We are one of a number of primary academies within The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust and we are federated with two other local schools, Kings Rise Academy in Birmingham and Croft Academy in Walsall.  Together we are committed to working with children, families and the local community to provide an enriched curriculum which prepares our children for their future.  Our federated curriculum is based on three areas of intent - Health, Aspirations and Diversity.   

Our skilled and nurturing staff team are committed to providing:

  • a safe and happy environment where all children are valued, respected and listened to, 

  • an engaging curriculum to meet the needs of all children

  • excellent teaching & learning which helps children meet their full potential, 

  • opportunities for your child to practise what they have learnt in school at home, 

  • updates on the progress of your child, through weekly Marvellous Me messages, weekly social media updates, termly parent consultation meetings, temly behaviour reports,  annual end of year written report, 

  • support for your child to develop a moral and  ethical compass for life enabling them to grow up to be the best person through our school values Belong, Learn & Grow

  • opportunities for children to develop positive social relationships, self-esteem and a sense of responsibility, resulting in high standards of behaviour 

  • opportunities for children to develop a positive attitude to others, regardless age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief,

  • confidentiality of information regarding each child, 

  • information to you about our school, including relevant policies, meetings, workshops and events by keeping our website and social media pages up-to-date, emailing a weekly newsletter and updating an annual calendar of events at regular intervals

 
I look forward to working in partnership with all parents and community members. We want to do the very best that we can for your child at all times and ask you to support us in our work. We believe strongly in a partnership between home and school and know that together we can work successfully for the development of your child in all aspects of growth. 

 

This website will give you an insight into the wonderful work and opportunities available to your child at Woods Bank Academy as well as some key information about our school. We are very proud of our school and are happy to show you around and answer any questions that you may have.

Welcome to our school website and I extend that welcome to you and your children as part of the Woods Bank family. We are passionate about providing a happy learning environment where children can thrive. If children feel happy and safe they develop a sense of belonging helping them learn and grow into well balanced citizens prepared to make a wider contribution. The curriculum at Woods Bank is varied, it captures new experiences, awe, wonder and excitement and engages children with a real purpose to their learning. With these fundamental foundations children will be able to achieve well and reach their potential. A committed and supportive staff make Woods Bank a special place to be.
