Curriculum Statement

Our Curriculum Statement

Let’s make our future now, and let us make our dreams tomorrow’s reality”

- Malala Yousafzai

At Woods Bank Academy our intent is to raise the aspirations, improve the health and celebrate the diversity of our community. We believe, due to our experience and statistical analysis, that these shared issues are fundamental to the particular circumstances of our school and the wider community.

Our curriculum meets the requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum and is designed to meet the needs of our school and the community. Children’s learning is at the heart of everything we do and we aim to tailor our curriculum to individual needs, interests and aptitude so as to fulfil every child's potential. We provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment to enable children to develop a positive self image, build on what they already know, take advantage of and provide opportunities for them to interact and learn from each other.

The one phantom thread running through the forest of my story is “Who am I?” or “Who should I be for the people around me?”
